Two mums. Real travel. No filter.

We’re Carly and Renee – two Aussie mums travelling and living overseas with our daughters.

We started Kids Who Travel because we wanted more honest conversations about what family travel is actually like – the good bits, the hard bits, and everything that goes wrong in between.

We share what we’ve learned from doing it ourselves: flying with kids, sickness, accommodation, schooling, visas, transport, slow travel and life abroad.

We don’t always have the same answer – and that’s kind of the point.

No perfect travel. No pretending we have it all figured out. Just real experiences and practical information from two mums doing it as we go.

If something we share helps even one family feel more confident to travel, try something new or say yes to an adventure, then it’s worth it.

More than just a podcast.
Practical family travel tips, real experiences and the things we’ve learned along the way.

Meet Carly

Carly is one half of Kids Who Travel. She travels with her husband Jase and their daughter Chloe, with much of their life based around slow travel and living overseas.

They prefer staying longer, settling into local routines and getting to know a place rather than constantly moving on. Fitness is a big part of their family life too, and Jase’s running often has a habit of influencing where they travel next.

On the podcast, Carly brings her perspective on schooling, routines, travel logistics and the realities of raising a child abroad – sharing what’s worked for their family and what they’re still figuring out along the way.

Meet Renee

Renee is one half of Kids Who Travel. She travels with her husband Jacob and their daughter Kaia, with their life overseas shaped by slow travel, rock climbing, nature and a love of being outdoors.

Adventure has always been a big part of how they travel. They’d rather spend weeks getting to know one place, find a climbing crag or head somewhere off the usual tourist trail than race through a checklist of destinations.

On the podcast, Renee brings that perspective to the conversation – sharing what travelling with a young child actually looks like, what they’ve learnt along the way and why having kids doesn’t have to mean giving up the adventures you love.
